André Balouzet de Tigny est le dernier enfant d’une fratrie installée à Lyon, issue des familles Balouzet et Tillard.
Membre de l’Académie Jullian. Il y sera l’élève de Baschet et de Royer, avant de sillonner la France et réaliser des œuvres dans le sillage de Maurice de Vlaminck. Œuvres dures, souvent sombres ou aux traits marqués et épais, Balouzet de Tigny présentera ces pièces fortes au Salon autour de 1920/40 et à de nombreuses expositions des cercles parisiens.
